Hi,
We all made it up Camp Cuyamaca this morning.
The students met their counselors/ camp teachers and got oriented around the school camp. They also got in their cabins and got their bunks set up.
They had their first meal, lunch. The procedures for meals were explained and after the meal, students washed the dishes. (Yes, all students take turns washing dishes!)
After lunch students took a nature walk to familiarize themselves with their "outdoor" classrooms.
Soon after they had a fire drill and their first recess time. Around 5pm students moved over to the dining hall for dinner and then back to the cabins to take showers and clean up.
Tonight's evening activity is a campfire sing-a-long. The camp counselors teach the kids some hilarious and fun songs!
Finally, they will end the night with storytime in the cabin before lights out!
